Our Music Programs
"He who sings songs to God, prays twice."
Our music programs provide opportunities for people to express their faith, grow in their talents, and joyfully share scriptural truths through heartfelt praise to inspire, strengthen, and encourage us throughout the week.
MEN’S AND WOMEN’S CHORUSES will begin preparing for the First Sunday of Advent, November 30, 2008, when they will sing at both worship services. Rehearsals are at 12:15 p.m. each Sunday, beginning today(Nov 9). The men will meet in the Music Room, and the women will meet in Room # 103. Anyone who loves to sing is invited to join us for this enjoyable Wallace tradition.
Choirs
The Chancel Choir presents a wide variety of choral music each Sunday, and rehearses on Wednesday evenings from 7:30 to 9:30. Anyone is welcome to join.
The Sunday School Singers and The Cherub Choir provide the opportunity for children to rehearse and share music in worship. They meet during the Church School hour.
Wallace enjoys the participation of guests, friends, area musicians, and university students, in addition to our own members, in the development of special programs and worship experiences.
Special Music
Special Music programs consist of:
- The Women's and Men's Choruses
- Pageants and dramas
- WALLACE PRESENTS. . . a concert series bringing artists from a variety of expressions to our sanctuary for the community to enjoy
- Community Volunteer Recognition Service
- Veterans Recognition Service
- Christmas Programs and Concerts
- Community Services for Thanksgiving, Ash Wednesday, Good Friday and other seasonal times
- Youth Sunday
- The creative celebration of significant events in the life of the church, such as Pentecost (the birthday of the church) with a lawn party and Dixieland band
